NEWSLETTER FOR 2008

What a year we have had with weather!  We were lucky, here in the Vale, not to have our house flooded. However, the garden did get a little damp and we did have lavender plants floating about in the garden - not sure where they were heading! 

We have new lavenders to add to our collection, starting with, in our Angustifolia Section, a lavender named Elizabeth, which is an outstanding new variety from Jersey. The foliage of this plant is excellent and it has large, pointed, dark-purple flowers that could well be competition to Hidcote and it is slightly taller. In our Stoechas Section, we have ‘The Little Bee Selection’; they are Little Bee Blue & White, Little Bee Lilac, Little Bee Purple and Little Bee Rose. This series are very floriferous French lavenders bred to be uniform across the range. They are ideal for growing in pots. We are currently taking pre-orders for spring plants. Place your order on-line (see below) or by post or visit us at the Farmers Markets to discuss your requirements.  Plants can be sent by post or collected from the nursery or Farmers Market.

Thank you to all of you who have supported us at the Farmers Markets, it’s lovely getting to know you all and there’s such a lovely community feel, which we both love. We have decided not to attend Harbourne Farmers Market but will carry on supporting Kings Norton and Moseley in Birmingham, Chipping Norton, Deddington and Charlbury in Oxon.   In addition to this we will be attending more Farmers Markets in Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

Shows – we are looking at having a stand at the Kings Heath Garden Show in the Autumn.

Garden – we will be opening the garden this year – however, we have lots to do for this to happen…

Greenhouse – we will be building our little empire by adding another greenhouse to our collection to help with our ever-growing lavender selection. When this is up and running you are more then welcome to come along to view the garden & nursery in Summer on Fridays or by appointment.
