Kim and Fiona would like to introduce you to their carefully selected lavenders. Lavandula angustifolia

 

Hardiest and most fragrant of all lavender cultivars. Flowering late May through June/July. If pruned lightly after first flowering they will often flower a second time before autumn.

Artic Snow – White flowered cultivar which is truly angustifolia and hence grows only to 50cms, Clear white flowers. Ashdown Forest - Lavender blue flowers with grey-green foliage in summer. Compact habit. Culinary uses, add flowers to soups, and salads. Flowers: Jul-Aug. Ht 60cm

Cedar Blue - Pale mauve flowers in summer. Dwarf compact habit. Medicinal and aromatic. Culinary uses, add flowers to soups and salads. Flowers: Jul-Aug. Ht 40 cm

 

Edelweiss - Elegant white flowers with grey-green foliage. Flowers: Jun-Aug. Ht 40 cm

Elizabeth – An outstanding new variety from Jersey. Large pointed dark-purple flowers; Flowers June – July 60cm

 

Folgate - Mid purple/blue flowers in summer. Compact habit. Medicinal and aromatic. Culinary, add flowers to soups, stews and salads. Ht 60cm.

 

Hidcote - Dwarf cultivator with small, narrow, grey-green leaves and compact growth reaching 45cm. Flowers are the deepest bluish-purple of any of the lavenders.

Hidcote Pink - Rich pink flower heads, with narrow, grey-green leaves and the flower spikes rise to about 45cm.

Imperial Gem - Distinctive deep purple flowers in mid to late summer. Perfect for hedging and the border. Ht 50cm

Jean Davis - Bluish-green foliage and gorgeous pretty pink spiky flowers. Both flowers and foliage are used for their soothing, flavoring teas. Ht 45cm

Lavenite Petite – Very compact habit and many more short flower spikes that most angustifolia. The flowers are dark blue and darker than Munstead.  Flowers earlier than Hidcote and Munstead. (35cm)

Little Lady - Masses of compact sky blue flowers are borne on these bushy plants. Height 40 - 50cm Lodden Blue- A semi-dwarf lavender with 6-8" dark purple flower. Lodden Blue has a nice compact growth.

Mailliette- Long spikes of violet-blue. Bushy habit. Fragrant. Ht 60cm

Melissa Lilac – A real stunner – large lilac flowers and strong robust silvery foliage 60cm June- July

 

Miss Katherine - Long spindle like blooms are a soft lilac-pink brushed with lively red-violet tints. Grey-green foliage. Flowers: Jun-Jul. Height: 75cm

Munstead - Narrow, grey green leaves on compact plants. Beautiful spikes and vivid lavender-blue, blooms. Very aromatic foliage. Ht 30 cm

Nana Alba - A wonderful little white-flowered lavender with green-grey foliage. Height 40cm (15in). Introduced in 1938

 

Peter Pan - A compact variety, which bears masses of fragrant deep purple, flowers.

Princess Blue - Flowers of traditional lavender hue (dark blue). Suitable for patio pots and small gardens. Flowers: Early summer. Ht 50-60 cm high/wide.

 

Rosea - Attractive rosy pink flowers, cover mounds of fragrant silver green foliage. Flowers: July. Ht 60cm

Royal Purple – An old favorite bred in 1944 by Norfolk Lavender. Dark purple flowers on elegant, long stalks in late summer. (60cms)

Wendy Carlisle – Unique colour break of grayish-white flowers. Compact habit. Ideal for hedges and growing in borders. Selected from recent AGM trials at RHS Wisley. (40cm x 40cm) 

 

Lavandula X intermedia

 

Fully hardy. Nicely scented. Foliage is grey/green with longer leaves. Flowers produced on long stems. Flowering June/August.

Alba - Long spikes of large, pure white and extremely fragrant flowers wave above soft, silvery-grey foliage. Ht 60cm

 

Grappenhall - Late blooming with long spikes. Large pale mauve flowers in summer. Plant is quite vigorous. Medicinal and culinary. Height: 90 cm

Grey Hedge - Long pointed silvery grey leaves and pale blue flowers. Compact bushy habit ideal for a hedge. Height with flower: 100 cm

Grosso- Grey-green foliage, tall spikes of lavender-blue flowers. Very fragrant. 75cm.

Lullingstone Castle - Long mauve flowers of long stems in summer. Excellent for cutting and drying. Good silver/grey foliage. Medicinal and culinary. Flowers: Jun-Aug. Height: 90 cm

 Nana Alba – Summer (June-August) , White Flower , Green Foliage, 25cm Tall, very compact dwarf white flowering Lavender with that magnificent fragrance. Ht. 25-30cm. Fl. Jun-Sept.

Seal - Long mid-purple flowers on long stems with grey-green leaves in summer. Excellent for cutting and drying. Medicinal and culinary Height: 100 cm

Lanata X angustifolia

Soft velvety, silver-grey leaves. Prolific spike producers. Flowering late June-July.

Sawyers - Grey foliage with a fine white down, giving the whole plant a silver cast, the bright blue flowers with a hint of lavender with silver calyces shimmer on the plant. Ht: 60cm

Stoechas Lavender

Plump heads with butterfly-winged bracts. Strongly scented. Frost hardy to -5 degrees. Requires some winter protection.

Fathead - Compact and long flowering season. Stunning deep purple flowers. Ht 50cm

Helmsdale - Dark, burgundy-purple flowers are produced in abundance in spring and intermittently, throughout the summer and autumn. Very aromatic foliage. Height 70cm

Kew Red - Maroon flowers with pink ears. Compact, dwarf habit. Ht 25cm. Tender.

Papillon - Strong aromatic grey/green leaves with dark purple flowers. July-Aug. Ht 60cm

Regal Splendour - A neat shrub bearing large deep purple flowers with lilac ears. Height 70cm

 

Little Bee Collection

This series are very floriferous French Lavenders bred to be uniform across the range. They are ideal for growing in pots. Little Bee,  Blue White, Little Bee Lilac, Little Bee Purple, Little Bee Rose

Dentata Varieties

Flowering for most of the year these plants can be kept outside in the summer months and taken into a sunroom for the winter. Look lovely in pots.

Ploughman's Blue - Lime green toothed foliage, violet blue flowers.

Lynda Lygon     - Varigated foliage, Violet blue flowers

Goodwin Creek – Grey furry foliage with lovely blue flower.

Unusual Lavenders

Christiana- This exceptionally vigorous lavender has the most enormous blue flowers above grey foliage. Height 75cm (30in). A sterile hybrid of canariensis and pinnata.

Pinnata - Purple flower loves full sun, wonderful feathery foliage. Doesn’t like frost. Flowers all year round Height 2feet
